project transition plan template
Templates are pre-designed files that you or someone else (such as Microsoft) generates to use as a blueprint for a project. The template could be to get a business card, brochure, resume, demonstration. . .the list continues. Irrespective of the purpose, templates provide the plan consistency which any organization (or person ) needs to look professional. (you could also find templates for Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications, but in this guide we are focusing on Microsoft Word.)
The template contains a specific layout, style, layout and, sometimes, text and fields that are common to every use of that template. Some templates are so complete (for instance, business cards), you only need to alter somebody’s name, contact number, and email address. Others, like business reports or brochures, could demand that everything is altered except the design and layout.
Once you make a template, then you may use it over and over. Bear in mind that while you open a template to initiate a project, you save the job as a different file type, like the simple .docx Word format, for editing, printing, sharing, and much more. The template file remains the same, unless or until you wish to alter it (more on this later).
Custom templates can be as simple or complex as needed. For instance, you may create a template for your organization’s newsletter, posters for a seminar, or even invitations for corporate events. You can also produce interactive templates to load the Intranet, so others can fill in the blanks to print their own envelopes and letterhead, for instance.
First, produce a document–design and format , add graphics and photos. If it’s interactive, select Controls in the Developer tab and create custom input fields for user interaction.
Some templates utilize interactive controls for user input. For example, imagine that after a month, the branch managers, assistant managers, and loan originators of a large banking institution have a meeting at one of the 12 branches. It is your helper’s job to email the date, time, place, speakers, themes, and the agenda to each attendee. Rather than having that person retype the data in a regular template, you may make a template where options can be selected from a list.
Templates allow you to configure all the relevant settings you want pre-applied to documents–webpage design, styles, formatting, tabs, boilerplate text, and so on. You may then easily make a new file based on that template.
When you save a document as a template, you can then use that template to create new files. Those new files include all the text (and images( and other content) the template contains. They also have all the same page layout settings, segments, and styles as the template. Templates can save a great deal of time when you’re creating multiple documents that need to have a consistent design, format, and some boilerplate text.
